    Default New guy in deep

Hello all. I am jumping into Straight razors with both feet. I bought a TI new, and from of the sponsors on this site I bought a Mountain Man strop , 2", with both cloth and leather. Also I have been buying some vintage razors on ebay. I have 2 that are usable, and 2 that need restored. I have shaved 3 times now. Not too much blood loss. I think I definitely need to get these blades professionally honed. Even the new TI is not making it through my chin hairs. The rest of the face is ok. I sharpened one of the vintage razors on a Spyderco and got it as sharp as the new TI, but I definitely need to invest in some stones.
    So that is my story.

Hi, glad you jumped in!!! Having the blades hones professional will help tremendously. It also takes a while to learn the proper shave angles for the blade as it works on your whiskers. Time, patience and I'm sorry to say a little blood are in your future.
