Hi there - another new one
Hello everyone,
I've been lurking here and checking out all the beginners guides and videos as well as reading what people write here for a few weeks now. I'd like to offer my thanks to everyone here who makes it work and especially Lynn for starting such a marvellous resource.
I dabbled with a straight when I was a teenager without any knowledge of stropping techniques or indeed how to hold the razor it only lasted a few weeks before I cut myself quite badly and gave up. I bought a new razor and equipment with a bit of money I was given for my birthday to "spend on something fun".
I have been trying without much success to get everything right but am determined to persevere this time and after a few weeks of cutting myself, blaming the sharpness of the razor and suffering horrible razor burn, I have finally just given myself a reasonably good shave without any burn. The sense of achievement is great! It only took 30 minutes
The key for me, I think, is realising that you have to take the whiskers off in little steps and be patient - and keeping the pressure almost non-existant. My chin is still a bit stubbly in the bit just under the jawline and there are a few prickles on my neck if I feel it in a particular direction. But I reckon there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks once again.
