Hello folks
I'm Dan and about 1 year ago I received a straight razor as a gift for Christmas. I only really started to use it a few months ago because I found it a bit frustrating not being able to have a complete shave as i was having to shave again with a regular razor. So I've decided to have another crack at it and hopefully will be able to get some advice from you guys about any problems I might encounter.

Welcome to SRP! There are many great people here more than willing to help you along the way. Learning to shave with a straight has wuite the learning curve so no shame in having to touch up with another razor. Read the WIKI here and ask questions to help you along the way :)

Whatever you do, don't be discouraged by the touch up with your other razor. It happens to all of us. Read the wikis. Plent of awesome info there.here's some facts, your going to get a couple good bleeders, possibly some bad razor burn, probably cut your strop and it's going to take time.... Don't give up! Once you see progress it's all gravy after that. It's something you won't regret, best of luck and welcome!

Welcome Danny,
Im still learning as well. Been doing it for about a year , on and off between DE's and straights. I've decided to stick with straight shaving for a while. Right now Im doing 2 wtg passes and xtg on my cheeks and jaw. The key Im finding is try not to over do it. Watch your pressure and just take it slow.
Im already seeing better results then ever.

Stick with it, the satisfaction that comes with using a straight properly is worth the effort.
