Thanked: 5New Canadian
Just posting here to say hello - new guy out on the prairies.
I had my first attempt at a straight shave last Saturday (mostly because I hate the waste of disposable razors, but straight razors are very neat as well), which went not bad. I finished with my regular razor; after using it back to back with a straight, there is no comparison - I won't be going back.
I like to try different things, and have been curious about straight razors for awhile, so I finally took the plunge this year.
I've been using this forum for info on pretty much everything I've needed to get going, and it has been great. There is a lot of awesome info here! Thanks for all the help thus far!

Welcome to the forum. We have quite a few members on here from the Great White North. I started pretty much like you describe as well, I used a disposable for touch up's until I got proficient with the straight. Don't hesitate to ask questions.

Thanked: 5Haha... It's not even too bad where I'm living now, but -5F is pretty normal. We are having a bit of a heat wave the last few days. I moved from Northern Manitoba and we would hit -58 F for a week or so in the winter - we'd just throw the fish we caught ice fishing out the door of the shack, and they'd be solid pretty quick (even at -20F they froze nicely haha).
Thanks for the welcome.
