Thanked: 0Hello from the other Washington
Hello all,
I've been lurking for a while trying to determine whether a straight razor is a practical and affordable alternative to cartridge razors and blades. I'm trying to find an affordable used straight razor and accessories and am open to others' tips on what might be appropriate razors in the classified section of the website or on e-bay.
I appreciate the time that has been spent setting up this site and look forward to learning more about straight razors and accessories from the particpants on the site.
Hola!

Thanked: 1371Welcome to SRP jazman.
The initial cost of getting started will be about $60-$70 on the low end. You can plan on having your razor honed a couple of times a year for about $20.
Versus cartridge razors you can save a lot, if you stick with the basic equipment. A lot of us that started out to save money found the hobby too enjoyable, and have spent multiple lifetimes worth of shaving cartridges on straight shaving equipment.
But, it can be done if you have the discipline.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.
