Thanked: 2New Member from Wisconsin
Hello,
I just thought I'd say "hi" now that I've finally joined SRP. I found this site in November and found myself wanting to try my hand at straight razor shaving (mostly out of curiosity I guess).
So I purchased my first straight razor, strop, and brush (with the recommendations found here) and began my journey learning how to use it. It didn't take long before I was completely hooked.
Because of this site, I had a fairly clear picture of what to expect. SRP is a wonderful resource! I can’t imagine attempting to learn this skill without some guidance. I spent a lot of time reading on the site and learning from others' experiences. Many of you have helped me without even knowing it. Thanks to everyone who contributes to this site.
Now after two months, I have completed over 60 shaves and own 3 razors (in addition to the soaps, creams, aftershaves, brush, stand, mug, strop, polish, etc).
I have made quite a few newbie mistakes (nicked a razor on the sink, nicked my strop, a few cuts here and there), but this site let me know I wasn't the only one and let me know what to do about them. The shaves are considerably better than at first, but I still have lots of room for improvement.
Thanks for being here.

Thanked: 2Thanks for the welcome, everyone.
Knightwolf, where in WI are you located?
Obie, thanks for the offer. Some of your older posts have already helped me. I even stopped by Mayfair and picked up some soaps after reading the article you wrote for the Shepherd Express.
