    Default Beginner from Anaheim, CA

Hello there fellow razor lovers! My name is Brian and I am fairly new to straight razors. I do not own one of my own yet but hopefully that will change very very quickly. I have borrowed a friends a few times and have come to love the feel and look of a good shave.

I have really been interested in the subject for only about 3 months but I must say even as a kid I remember thinking that this is how shaving was supposed to be. I have been a slave to the daily shave routine for years and I just can't seem to want to stay on top of it, but after my recent adventure in trying a straight razor I have found a lost love and a new passion for my daily routine.

Shaving in my opinion is a bit of a lost art. Not sure if its just my generation but you really don't hear of people taking an interest in the subject or even passing it along. I know no one taught me how to shave. It seems to be a dying art that really really needs a comeback...so I'm glad to be a part of it.

Being a person that takes interest in things that take process and time to learn Id love any tips on a first buyer and I look forward to learning as much as I can.

    Thanks,
    Kraken85

Thanks Ogershok. I bought a brush and soap awhile back and have never looked back to the old foam in a can. I have pretty sensitive skin and I just need to go ahead make make the full jump.

Hello and welcome to SRP. Shaving definately has become a chore...that is if you use one of those "other" razors. Shaving with a straight definately brings some class and relaxation to the whole ordeal

    Default Welcome

Great to have you here, you will find once you get one, you will want to try another type then another, then find the kind you really like and buy a bunch of them.

    Thumbs up Your Off!!!

I started with a whipped dog set up at the end of December, I now have 7 or 8 razors, strop and stones and a new license plate STR8SHV. Shaving with a straight is sooooooo nice. As for soaps I highly recommend:

Handmade Shaving Soaps, Mama Bears Soaps

Get a decent Badger and you're on your way.

    Shave On!
