Greetings all!!!
So, a little about myself. My name is Salil and I live in Texas. This is my secong go around at straight razor shaving. First time I tried shaving was as I was starting college. Had no idea what I was doing and cut, razor burn, etc., myself too many times to enjoy. My love of knives and the great advice already found on this website I decided to give this (str8 shaving) another try. Thanks for all the great info. Have yet to get a great shave, but I'm pretty sure it'll take longer than a week (about the time I restarted). Already having better shaves with everyone's help.
Equip: (sorry no pics)
blades:
5/8 boker edelweiss
5/8 droescher & behar (thanks shooter74743)
Hair shaper (disposable blade str8, like the one from Fromm)
strop: strop and fabric from straight razor designs
brushes: boar bristle and pure badger brushes
no preshave as of yet
soaps/creams: Castle Forbes, cremo cream, C. O. Bigelow (proraso), so far with others on it's way. Castle Forbes best so far, but will see with the others that should be on it's way???
After shave: store bought Nivea stuff. (Sorry to disappoint, just what I already have.)
Stones: Very big ones to get back into straight shaving after my first experience. LOL Kidding. Naniwa Super Stones 5000, 8000, 12000.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Hope to have fun and learn as much as can from everyone here. Happy shaving all. *Oh, and to update: Got in my samples of Al's Shaving, Trufitt & Hill, and D.R. Harris shave creams. Tried Al's Shave cream this morning and I must say that I am very impressed.*
