    Default Hello from Canada eh?!

Hello SRP! My name is Matt and I'm from Canada.

I am currently waiting for my first straight razor in the mail. I bought a Dovo 5/8 Prima Klang: I read some people consider them a difficult razor to learn on, but I'm not too concerned. I've been shaving with a Merkur DE for close to two years, so I know how to be careful with a very sharp blade. I am also interested in restoring an heirloom Ern razor, but I've decided to put that off until I'm comfortable stropping and honing on an 8K to just keep sharpness. After a couple restorations I might tackle an heirloom razor.

Anyways, thank you so much for this forum - it's a godsend. I've read the entire wiki and seen most of the videos already

    Matt

Welcome from another fellow Canadian! As I'm sure you already know, this place has all the knowledge you'll ever need regarding straight razors. I'm sure you'll do just fine with the Prima Klang, but please concentrate on your stropping and shaving technique before progressing to honing and then eventually to restores.

    Have fun.
