Hello from N.Yorkshire,England.....
Hi there guys,my name's Tommo,51yr old from the N.E of England.Got myself a cheap E-Bay special razor a few months ago and really enjoy shaving a couple of times a week, but know I've a lot to learn and will be a long time before I'm proficient at it.I'm looking at buying a better razor and improving my technique, and after visiting this site a few times I know I'll find the answers here!
Cheers,Tommo.

Howdo Tommo,
Welcome, there's a good few of us on this side of the pond.
If you are looking for a supplier of good razors Neil of The Strop Shop is very good pleasure to deal with and I understand is Steve from The Invisible Edge also is, I've only ever bough hones from him but the service was good.
Happy shavingRegards
Nic

Hi Tommo, Welcome to the forum, Im a newbie myself, There is loads of information and good links on this site and the members are friendly and helpfull. What im finding is although there is loads and loads of really sound advise there is general census of to each his own, for the way to shave and the soap to use or using a canvas and leather to strop or canvas only or leather only. Im trying to take it all on board and try different things, and I'm sure I'll find what suits me best.
In mean time there is years and years of knowledge at your finger tips here I'm youll all the info you need. The videos are top notch too.
And there is a razorcon being organised for July in the London area, that would be worth a visit theres demos there from honing to stropping.
You never know I might see see you there.
Enjoy and good luck
Anthony

Welcome Tommo, from a fellow Brit!
The other gents have given you some great advice so all I can really add is make yourself at home and enjoy the site!
As Anthony said, there's a razorcon in July which should be a great day and it's in a pub so there will be beer!
Check out the wiki and other links in my sig line as they'll really help as well.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask and other than that have fun and jump in.
Best,
Stu
