    Default Hello from Mexico City

Hi, I've finally decided to register to the forum after reading some of the beginners guides and tutorials. I'm trying to buy my first straight razor, well, I bought a really cheap one ($12) to see if I had the pulse to enter to the straight razor world. I managed to shave myself without accidents, but it wasn't pleasant at all.

    Thanks in advance.

You will find a wealth of information here that can help with all manner of issues, but make sure to ask even if only to confirm what you think you've already gleaned from other posts and the wiki. We're allowed to be noobs in the beginner section (yay!) so I see no reason to be unsure about what is meant and said.

Firstly welcome to SRP, secondly tell us more about the $12 razor. Maybe post a pic (we like pics). If you bought a new razor chances are you were never going to have a good experience. There is big difference between a sharp razor a a shave ready one. Found this out myself the hard way.

It is really good to see that the Mexican straight fans are coming. I think we should plan a meeting.

    Thanks everybody.

@Str8Raz0r: About the razor I don't think she worth the pics, I bought her new, the manufacturer is a local company of scissor and other barbershop and hairstylist accessories. Maybe it will be helpful to practice honing movements when I got stones.

@cesaryanez: I like the meeting idea, at least we can start a thread about places to find equipment.
