I am an Ivory Fiend, so I can see it from across the road! Look at the grain! The pins are collarless as well being a good indicator! Nothing feels so fine in the hand. Look in the wiki on how to identify it! Tap it lightly on your front tooth! Now you know what ivory feels like! If you send it off, send it to someone you trust!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Wow if you guys are right then that definitely just made my day, I will be sure to try and take care of it. I only bought it because it was the only one in the store that the blade was not chipped away.

Wow good find. Who would be opposed to shaving with a straight razor? Even my bad shaves are more enjoyable than with a multi blade contraption. enjoy the new addiction

Besides the guys here nearly everyone opposed it. Parents, friends, seems everyone I talked to had some bad experiences. Oh well my new one is in the mail and then I can be the judge.

Thanked: 1936MAB's are great lil' shavers...I have two in Ivory. The top one had the scales already on them and the second one I made the scales for. The third razor is a lil Swedish razor... Ivory is a pleasure to work with...
The spots on the blades is mineral oil FYI

First shave was a full shave...Had a few problems like no where to hang my strop and the shaving cream was really more like a lot of wet soap with no lather. But regardless I was not detoured. Put on a hot towel, lathered up and pressed on. Performed two passes with some success, I had one small scratch on my neck due to me not watching the spike point. Overall by the end I still had a little stubble but I put it about equal performance as my disposable, at least for the first shave. The problem after was I had razor burn so I put some nice lotion on.
Used Dovo Ebony Spike Point 5/8, Castle Forbes Lime, and a alum block for the aftershave. The most important thing though is that I did enjoy it and will most likely stick with it.
Pictures will be posted tomorrow of the new gear.

Congratulations,
Full shave, first time and as good as a disposable is a result. The razor burn will decrease as you refine your technique.
