    Those stones should work just fine, but you should look into either a 8" DMT Coarse or do some research on how to lap the stones with sandpaper on the countertop or a marble tile as the lapping stone provided will not keep your stones flat like they should be. Once you get a comfortable shave every time off the 8K after honing, then you can entertain a finisher like a Naniwa 12K or thuringian/escher. There are many other finishers we use, but those two would be the easiest to learn IMO. I might also suggest a pasted strop (crox or .5 micron diamond) to use after the 8K.

    Thanks, but for the DMT could you post a like of one that would be appropriate. One I see is this but I am not sure if it will work

    That's it...I have a D11C & it works great. I chose the extra length thinking that most stones are 8" & I wanted my lapping stone to be longer. Either will work fine.

    Thanks, I will try my best I think once I manage to strop properly I will be fine. (watched the videos very helpful) Also I tried MAAS on the older antique razors and that stuff works wonders.
