    Default LockOn

Hello, first off im from Omaha, NE and a college student. For some reason I am being drawn to straights even though everyone I talk to opposes. Oh well regardless of what they think my first shave will be on Friday if my razor arrives. Perhaps the worst part is I have a bad case of RAD. Never shaven but already have 3 -maybe 1-2 more tomorrow have to see what the antique store has Well if anyone has questions for me let me know and I will be sure to ask mine. Looking forward to this new art/skill.

    Welcome.
We call that RAD- razor acquisition disorder if you find a cure please let us know.
What kind of razors? Where did you purchase?
Make sure to send out your new razors for professional honing.

You say "professionally honed", is this professional a knife guy or razor guy? There is a MAJOR difference I promise you.

    Hello, LockOn:

Welcome to Straight Razor Place. Yes, yes, my friend Shooter makes an excellent point. Have the razors honed by professionals who work with straight razors. Sharpening knives is a whole different world. Beyond that, take your time honing your skill with the straight razor. There's no hurry — that's the whole idea.

    Regards,

    Obie

Probably because the pin is washerless and the grain of the scales is not a uniform pattern like you see on/in celluloid scales, thats my guess anyways. Does it have a metal wedge? Heres one of mine that I think is Ivory.
