hello everyone
Wow i had no idea strait-razors were popular i have wanted to try one for awhile! I wonder what my wife is going to say when i tell her i wanna try using one?:gaah: I just spent a few hundred on a knife for my son just incase he gets deployed in september, and so offcourse i had to buy one for me!What do u think its guna cost me to get started?I probably should read the beginners post again. Anyway thanks for set,n up such a sweet forum, i have only been here for an hour or so and i have found ur forum very helpfull and full of VERY needed info! LOL my wife just pulled up, here we go WISH ME LUCK.

Good luck lol - just getting into it myself. I can't do it for less than $150 - but then that's only blade and strop - and only untill it needs to be honed.

bigdummy, welcome to SRP. Before you start buying up have a look at the beginners section (as you said) and the wiki. I would suggest a shave ready razor from the SRP classifieds to begin with. I would also suggest a decent strop, there are plenty of good ones around. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

I would add that the learning curve is steep - don't get discouraged and enjoy the ride.
Remember that we have all been where you are ATM and have made it through.
