New to wet shaving
Hi everyone, I'm new here, and new to wet shaving in general. I got into it recently and bought a nice DE, an Edwin Jagger DE89 Barley Chrome. I looked at straight razors a bit, and decided that they were too dangerous, but after reading a lot of threads on this forum, I decided that they weren't such a scary mystery after all, as long as care is taken. I've got a Dovo Best on the way (from SRD), and after I've gotten proficient at that I've got my eye on a couple nicer ones, of course.
I like the forum so far though, and I hope I enjoy straight shaving just as much as (or more than) DE shaving!

Thanked: 46Straights are only as dangerous as we make them ... unless you have Parkinson's or Tourette's ... then you might want to invest in an electric for safety sake. Just saying.
Welcome and enjoy your stay

Hi,
That's a very nice DE that you started with, your decision to get a straight razor from SRD is a good one, when it arrives don't get side tracked doing hanging Hair tests etc with it. It will be shave ready without question. Just shave with it.

Welcome
Please feel free to find your way into the meets and get-togethers forum. There is information regarding a meet in Spokane later this summer. I can't encourage you enough to be there. The amount of information available to you will be amazing and you will learn more in one afternoon than a month online.

Hope you do well. I am starting to get the hang of it, and I am definitely getting smoother shaves.
Good Luck

Welcome. +1 to deighaingeal's comment about making a get together. The ability to ask questions and compare notes face to face far surpasses any current online interaction.
Good luck
Michael
