A Filarmonica wannabe from Bulgaria
Hello, gents, I googled to find just the right forum for me.I have been wetshaving for 2 years and I spent 4 full salaries for my collection, most of the friends insist I am crazy :soapbox: Well, canned goo men, what can I say more.I tried so many DE razors, I have acne and always have nicks and not near a BBS, and tonight, I decided to look on youtube for a Filarmonica shave, and when I heard the cutting sounds and watched the fastest BBS shave ever, I screamed " You gotta be kiddin me, I am selling all my DE stuff tomorrow ".I opened my vintage Filarmonica Double Temple 12 razor and...it felt off, opened itself...and cut my leg above the knee.I was like frozen and I am glad to be alive, no kidding, I even took a photo of the injury, used styptic matches and continued writing. What a great way to start SR shaving and join the forum :mace: I have no idea if it needs honing, and I do not know any crafted master to check it.I even hope if it can be restored and renewed somehow, although it would cost a fortune.
What else can I say...I love soaps way more than creams, although Bulgaria is world-famous for its lavender and rose oil, hands down the best rose oil (but I hate rose like hell, I think it is reserved to ladies), we do not have any shaving soap in production, I do not think we ever had.I insisted to major companies here to create one, but I was not successful.I gave most of my dozens of creams to friends as a gift, and tried to make many people either SR or DE shavers, as there are so few who like canned goo and cartridge razors, given their ridiculous prices. And I believe a gentleman deserves the best for his skin.I never thought that SR is actually the cheapest and the best way to shave. What more can anyone ask, everyone wants the best quality at the lowest price...
