I think we'd say "mute" over here...dumb is no longer considered politically correct or socially acceptable, but I take your meaning.
Blessings,
Jim

I prefer the word 'Dumb' myself. It has a correct meaning (same as Mute), and it has it's bastardised usage that isn't very PC. I am not very PC myself though, and don't give much of a hoot for it. Just making comment though BigJim, and not being critical of your own preference mate. :)

Gotta have thicker skin than that to live in this world! And it's less my preference, and more simple commentary on the differences in dialect from English in one part of the world to the next.
On a side note: As a Pastor/Public Speaker/Community Leader being aware of what's PC and what isn't is pretty important...that way when I break from what's PC I'm doing it on purpose and not just sticking my foot in my mouth! Believe it or not, I'm more often than not, INTENTIONALLY not PC. But, even then I try to do so tactfully!
Peace, Mate!

Hi Waldek, thanks for sharing a photo of you and your daughter with us. It was so beautiful her idea of mailing you to Santa for a close shave.
Hmmm ... I suppose she may be a dangerous woman when she grows up :D
Oh I forgot to mention a very good friend of mine is currently getting married in Poland. His family originally is from Poland but he grew up in Melbourne Australia, which is where I met him.
I am sad that I couldnīt be there with him, but I will see him soon I hope when he returns to London.
Are disposable razors better than straights? Niet Pravda!!
Dzień dobry ;)
Dzień dobry :D:D:D
I try to shave with a razor, with hair (shave from top to bottom) the result satisfactory, but the hair (shave from the bottom up) face looked like a slaughterhouse. Bad angle hold. For now, I have a little egg to try again.
That's what we call WTG (With The Grain)
That's what we call ATG (Against The Grain)
Instead of going from WTG to ATG, go from WTG to XTG (across the grain, ie. right to left, or perpendicular to the direction the hair grows). You'll get a great shave, and less likely to look like a pig that just went through processing!
BTW, I've been straight shaving for roughly 7mos and I don't do ATG except for a couple places where it's the only way I can shave other than WTG. :hmmm: feels good!
Peace,
Jim
Thanks Jim, I do not know the English terminology.
In my country it is said
of the hair - WTG - very popular method, preferred by young people and people with a soft beard
under the hair - ATG - old school shaving combined with WTG
across - XTG - Unknown method in my culture, but accidentally used when the hair changes direction
My skin is thin, black hair on the chin and hard. WTG all, then ATG on the cheeks, then on the neck XTG.
Razor at this time I am afraid, I prefer to use a Merkur Futur adjustable blade.
