    Default Hello from MI

For some reason I picked up the Straight Razor bug and have been reading here for at least the past 6 hours.

Wonderful information on every aspect, which has already helped me decide on what to buy for use and what would be good for practice and what should be avoided.

    Thank you.

    Welcome to SRP!

It's good that you're doing research before jumping in. Don't be afraid to ask questions if you need clarification about anything.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Thank you both. The information read here in 6 short hours saved me from making an Ebay mistake.

I did find and old restoration to bid on but am set on getting a Revisor.
They replied to my email in less than a day, now I just need to decided which one.

Welcome User64! What part of MI are you from? I am from Clare (by Mt. Pleasant) but currently live in England with the Air Force. I basically have the same story though...got the straight razor bug and found this place where I spent about 3-4 hours of reading. I went out the next day to an antique shop in the next village over and found a beautiful Mappin and Webb 6/8 half hollow (pictured here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/membe...-michigan.html). I have since polished it up and am waiting for my new scales before I send it off for it's first hone...can't wait to get shaving!
