    Lightbulb Greetings From the West

    Hi Everyone,

Having retired from a 20 year career in law enforcement (cop) I have become a psychologist, and am now in Northern California working at a drug / alcohol rehab.

I bought new band aids, got a tetanus shot, put the ER in my GPS, and etched my blood type on my driver's license. My son lives a couple miles north; I figure I can tap him for a couple of pints if I need to. Did I forget anything?

I have 3 of ever-so-great grandfather Buettner's straight razors, and Lynn honed one up for me a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to try to learn to hone on the other 2. This morning I ordered a new Dovo of my own.

I also love fountain pens. I'm a total anachronism! Full fledged Geezer! (What is a geezer anyway? One who geezes?)

    Wish me luck,
    Ive

Hi Iceman and welcome to SRP!!!!! Old guy here too. Your one up on me as I see you know how to work a digital camera! BUT, I don"t have a cell phone either, so maybe not. It is great that you have your grandfathers razors. This forum has a great bunch of guys that will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have. Beautiful country Northen California. I lived 17 years in Northen Arizona. Miss the mountains but not the winters! Best Regards and Happy Shaving, wildhog

    Welcome to SRP!

I think you've covered all your bases, but beyond a good constitution I think you won't need them. It's a little intimidating putting that razor to your skin for the first time, no matter how old you are. But it sounds like you're starting out on the right foot with a razor honed by Lynn.

Let us know how it turns out!

    Peace,
    Jim

P.S.>>>It's not perfectly clear, but it looks to me like that last little razor you have pictured is actually a corn razor. Might still shave your face though.

Jim +1 on the corn razor. Never used one but have seen a few. Best, wildhog

Yes, the little one is a corn razor. I wouldn't get it near my face on a bet!

    Thanks for the warm welcomes.
