    Smile Hello from NYC!

Good day to all. I collect watches and am fascinated by there precision, some how I think finding my way to Straight razors was inevitable. Im more anxious than nervous about my first shave and I think thats a good thing.
I am so new to this that I have not purchased my first razor but I will be doing so in the next day or two. If any one has any suggestions I welcome them all . I have been looking on a site called Vintage razors and I get a better feeling about them than other sites I have come across.Have any of you had any experience with them , good or bad?

Welcome to SRP and straight shaving. Please review the wiki on this site and feel free to ask questions. The vendors on this site have good reputations and will do you well. I am not familiar with Vintage Razors, but do know of Vintage Blades LLC. com, who is a good vendor, as well as, Straight Razor Designs and a few others. Maybe some others can give input to their experiences with that vendor. As stated by conroygc, the classifieds section of SRP is also a good place to find a good blade. Happy shaving!

Welcome to SRP. I think your on the right track by planning to go vintage. "They just dont make them like they use too" i believe the saying goes.

Any thoughts on Dovo Vs Thiers Issard? I also came across Heart steel which appeals to me because its American made.
