Gentlemen,
I have been participating in the forums for a few weeks, so I figured it's time to introduce myself properly.
I have been shaving with a safety razor for several years due to the better shaves and the money saving aspects. I still really like my DE and shave with it when traveling and when the mood strikes.
I have been shaving with a straight razor for about 6 months now. Once I got the technique of shaving and stropping down shaving became a very cathartic morning ritual for me. I try to shave every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and throw in an extra luxurious shave on Sunday.
I have purchased a few project razors on eBay and I'm looking forward to learning how to hone. Acquisitions will be slow since I'm on a college student budget, but I hope to eventually purchase the tools needed to make my own scales and restore razors.
The knowledge of the members here at SRP has awed me the past few weeks. I look forward to learning from all of you, and thank you for supporting such a strong community of hobbyists.
That being said, I thought I'd share some pictures of my current gear.
This is my current setup. Dovo Silver Steel with ebony scales, Dr Bronner's shaving soap gel and a silver tip badger hair brush. (I'm not a barber, my barber let me take some nice pics in his shop).

I also have a Dovo Best Quality that I shave with on occasion.

I also have about half a dozen razors that a gentleman in Pakistan sent to me. I assume they are lousy quality and have never tried to sharpen or shave with them, but the ones below have really neat designs and are made of damascus steel. I keep them around because they are pretty neat looking.
This one has a bone handle and the inner part of the scales are an intricate cut of metal. What would you call that... inlaid scales?

Imitation bone handle and smiling blade. The corner of the razor near the tang sticks out of the bottom of the scales :gaah:

Thanks again for being so friendly and helpful, and I look forward to chatting with you!
