Not really new, but newly active.
Hi, I've been shaving with a straight since 2005. I got tired of the gillette problems i had and the costs of replacing the cartridges and decided it was time. I was active on the yahoo group but i think it was with my old handle.
Since that time, I've moved several times and an currently in Michigan having returned to college...I'll be a teacher when i graduate in a year or so, at which time the crazy job hunt begins. I keep busy with school but always make sure i have time for a good shave a few times a week.
I've been honing my own razors since i started, using the learning curve add a sorry of punishment/reward system, with a shave being the reward for a good honing job, which helped me pick up the craft, i think...although, I'm sure i could use some tips.
I skipped the learning to shave with my left hand in favor of a strategy that allows me to functionally shave, but i think it's time now to work on that left handed shave.
Not sure what else to offer here by way of introduction but if you want to know any more just ask away.
