howdy!
Hello there....im another noob here. I joined a few weeks ago but I've finally decided to introduce myself. I'm from canoga park, ca. I've been wanting to get into wet shaving since I saw a mantic video on you tube last year. I did some research and found out about straight razors.so a couple of weeks ago, I bought my first straight razor. Over the past few shave attempts, I've developed a love/hate relationship with it. I definitely love the process, the lathering, the shaving; however, every time I "shave," I feel like a twelve year old shaving for the first time all over again. the only time I didn't bleed was the first time I picked up the straight but it burned like heck when I used my after shave. I can get better shaving results with my disposable bic razors. I must confess that using a straight razor does not make me feel manlier but since I have fallen in love with the wet shaving process, I will continue to practice until I manage bbs every time.sorry, I just ramble some times.

Welcome to SRP!
if you could tell us a little more about your razor and shave prep we might be able to speed up the learning curve.
nicks often are from a dull razor, too much pressure and/or a bad blade angle on the face.
how are you accomplishing your stropping and please pictures of your gear
enjoy,
jim
