Newbie from Colorado
Hello to all members. I recently decided to get into straight razors as a way to eliminate the irritation disposables cause given that I have sensitive skin. Unfortunately I could not afford a new razor so I purchased a vintage Wester Bros. Anchor Brand "Manganese". Now I know that probably wasn't the best choice, but, given that it came from a barber who had it recently honed, I couldn't pass it up for $25. Now after shaving with it everyday for a little over a week, I cannot imagine using anything else other than a straight. If this is anything like my obsession/passion for my tobacco pipes, I will most likely have a good collection before too long. Theres something about tobacco pipes and straight razors that just scream manliness!

The Wester Bros. razors are a well known and well respected brand, I have a De-Fi myself and you would be hard pressed to beat it for a smooth shave..
Just a heads up from a displaced Coloradoan there is a upcoming meet planned already and if you can make it I promise you will learn more in one day there then 6 months of reading :)

LOL - depending on your affliction of course, you might find straights a little cheaper than pipes! That is until you find hones, strops, custom razors, a love for scents etc, etc! : )
Your face will never feel better though! Congrats on solving your issue.
