Hello from Vancouver
Well hi all. I'm Geoff from Vancouver Canada. I recently got into DE shaving and I reckon it's time to try a straight. I've got a dovo special on order and just found 3 of granddad's old straights which will need a little work (a roxo, a bengall, and a James Barber). With luck, help, time, and likely a little blood I'd like to get them all working! I've been lurking for a while so I though it was time to say hi.

Thanked: 3225Welcome to the forum. Wish I could say I had my grand dad's razors. I hope you get them ship shape and put back into service. That should make for an even more enjoyable shaving experience.

Thanked: 275I'm in Richmond, not far from you. There are a few more members in the Lower Mainland.
Send me a PM, and we might arrange a meeting. Having razors with real history behind them is very nice.

Nice to meet you both! I wasn't sure there would be others from the area on the forum. Very handy!

Thanked: 334Hi, Geoff, and a big, hearty welcome to you from another B.C. boy! I'm glad to hear that you're interested in restoring your granddad's razors -- family heirlooms such as those always make for good introductions here at SRP. BTW, pics of your gear (aka "razor porn") are always welcome.

I posted the old razors to the show and tell section. They sure look a lot older next to everyone else's nice finds!

Welcome to SRP Geoff. Take your time and you will begin to find most all the answers you may have in regard to deciding
the fate of your Grandfather's razors. They have come a long way as they are and hopefully one day your grandson
will be on SRP sharing the same razors with members.Bob
