Good evening fellow SRP members! As suggested by the forum moderator, I am posting a short introduction to get started on the website.

After perusing various threads, the abundance of information here at SRP - that already posted, along with the untold troves locked away in the member's minds - has given me the impetus necessary to join. I am new to classic shaving (my favorite term for SR shaving) and am eager to leverage the experience and knowledge of everyone here.

As for my equipment, I currently have a H. Böker & Co (Solingen) King Cutter, which was given to me by my father. Judging from the tree stamp on the tang, it was forged between 1924 and 1935. Coincidentally, identifying my razor was one of my first visits to SRP (source).

I look forward to utilizing this wonderful resource and picking the brains of all you knowledgable members.

While I welcome tips on any aspect of classic shaving, I feel compelled to inform everyone that I have considerable difficulty with lathering. Despite my ability to form a wonderful rich, moist, and cushioning lather, I have great difficulty getting any volume out of it. Any suggestions would be more than welcome here, though I fully expect to post a similar question directly in the lathering sub-thread.

tylerbrycen: Thanks for identifying yourself as a fellow Arkansan. I now know who I'll go to when I have questions about local resources. As I mentioned above, the razor was given to me by my father and hadn't been used in quite some time; it was a bear finding someone who could straighten the blade and I broke down and sent it to ClassicShaving.com. Hopefully it will come back in great shape!

Lynn: After poking around the site and hearing a lot about you, I'd be foolish to forget this kind offer: should I ever head to MO, I'll pack my razor as I understand you are quite the instructor.

As for the comments on lathering, I incorporated them this morning and had better luck getting volume from my soap (not using cream yet). I'm sure my skills will increase commensurately with practice.
