Welcome to SRP.
Quit lurking and jump right in...the water is fine! It's a great adventure.
Forgot to mention, got a few very nice blades of SRP! Long live the RAD
Aloha I am just starting this adventure in straight razor shaving. Glad you decided to actively start posting after lurking for a year. I am somewhat nearby in Kosovo.
Hi, neighbour . Check out brijacnica.com, our local forum if you haven't already.
I am American and can only understand English like most Americans, I wish I had learned another language. brijacnica.com = the Barbershop.com in English right? It is a nice forum in any language I wish that I could only read in Croatian, I guess I will have to settle on google translating everything and looking at the pictures. Do you live by the sea or inland?
Oh, I figured out that you're an American after I replied.. I live in Zagreb, inland that is. The wife is from Zadar, so we are spending quite a bit of time by the sea aswell.
I know Croatia very well. Visit this land x-times. First time 1 year after war... then it was looking way different...
I hope you had a nice time. The war really slowed things up around here..
I watched a documentary The Weight of Chains it was very interesting have you seen it, I would imagine that living it was enough? What would you recommend I watch or read to better understand what happened to Yugoslavia and why I am here in Kosovo today? Feel free to PM me if before I sidetrack your thread to much.
I've not seen the documentary, but I will now. I've read Mischa Glenny's book called McMafia, and found it interesting. Me and the people living in Zagreb didn't suffer from war, except if someone in your family was drafted for the army.. The cities along the coast were occupated for a long time, so my wife's story isn't so great. Anyways people here tend to forget, and I think that we're really doing a good job moving on. There are still some issues with the Serbian minority in some rural areas, but people are really trying to live together, as they have been for few ceturies before the war..
Croatia is also going to be a part of EU very soon, so the war isn't a topic anymore
Jock I was looking through the groups and found this, Croatia Straight Shavers - Straight Razor Place Forum
Thx for the info! Most of the guys in the group I know from brijacnica!
