Hello from California, I actually started making knives about 6 months ago and thought it would be cool to try and make a couple straight razors. So I came here to get some tips and learn the nomenclature.

id love to see a local straight razor maker. might even be interested in buyin something. im over in fremont. been wet shaving for about five days now and i like to consider myself a pro. ok thats a lie. but im learning fast.
Welcome,,,,
Note razor steel is tempered differently (harder) and temper is important.
Stainless like D2 is not a common steel for razors.
Hunt for some $5 or less cracked and broken razors to use as templates.
