Hello from Maple Grove MN,
Started shaving with a straight razor 3 weeks ago.
I made my first Razor purchase 22years ago, but never was able to figure out how to do it. I found many videos a few weeks ago and decided to take another shot.
Sent my razor out to Ron at the Strop Shop ang got it shave ready. After this weekend I now own 2 more razors. I found one at an antique store that needs to be sharpened. I
should have my Norton 220/1000 and 4K/8K water stones delivered on Monday and time to learn learn a new skill.Last edited by IGoTooFar; 03-28-2013 at 08:31 PM.

Hi, and welcome! The best advice I can give (I'm still a newb) is to read the wiki, and ask a lot of questions. Everyone here has been incredibly helpful.
Some might suggest waiting to learn to hone until after you're comfortable shaving with a straight. Whether or not it's too much to take in at once is really up to you.
