    Default Howdy from VA

Just wanted to say a quick hello -

I'm an attorney living in the Norther VA/DC Metro area. I've been wetshaving for about a year now and decided that it was time to play it "straight." Bought a sight unseen flawed from Larry @ Whipped Dog, and sure enough, I'm 2 shaves in and haven't died (yet ). (Minor tangent - any one have any info about "Enrico Brinkmann & Co. - Iserlohn"??) Predictably, I now have a Watch List on eBay 35 razors deep, mostly comprised of W&B, Wostenholm, and Joseph Rodgers & Sons. To say this escalated quickly is an understatement!

I've perused the info on SRP for a while now, but figured if I'm going to make a habit out of using a SR, I might as well make a habit of posting to SRP. Thanks for having me!

Welcome...35 huh, man you got bit haaaaard bwa ha ha ha! Nice razors, and I have the exact same stand it's great. I cant recall the name off hand but I recognize the tub, the black one on top of the taylor cream; any good? I have been eyeballing their eucalyptus mint for a while, but at $18 I have wanted some opinions first. I believe it starts with a T?
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

The Castle Forbes Lime? Bit pricey, but considering how dense it is and how little you use for any given shave, worth it. Lathers extremely well, the scent is not overwhelming, and it seems to consume any amount of water you throw at it!

The thing on top of the TOBS Sandalwood is my mug . $2 from Target!

Quite alright! I need a new mug anyway, I find that its smaller diameter really inhibits a vigorous lathering.

That being said, thank you all for the welcome!

Also, if it matters, I'm relatively young - mid 20's - so I hope I can find other like-minded youths here as well!

The members here range all ages; I was actually 27 when I started wet shaving; and 29 when I started w/ a straight and found this place (30 now), so you are going to meet a wide range of folks from age to all walks of life.

Sounds great. I used to be into pipes, and it was a bit of the same with that hobby.

Also, RAD hit me hard today. Stupid paycheck.
