Greetings Gentlemen...

I am currently residing in Vegas. I fell in love with the practical sustainability and the old art in straight razors. I am from the Cleveland area originally where i was gifted my first blade upon repeatedly expressing the desire to use one. It was a vintage Sheffield that I am sorry to say I effectively ruined with improper restoration technique. I used a felt tipped Dremmel to buff a polish into the straight razor (which looking back may have been satin finished) causing thermal fatigue and a subsequent horizontal crack from the tip :gaah:. I then proceeded in frustration to cut off the ruined tip with a grinding edge. It looks bad and I never got to shave. The only redeeming quality is that it is perfect to practice honing with once I get my act together with some supplies.

So, having shed some embarrassing light onto my journey so far, I am not discouraged and really want to get started. I still need everything. I want a good starter piece to learn on (shave ready of course) with the basic accouterments, i want to learn to hone and restore, and i want to slowly build a collection of my own.
