    Default Back to Shaving

This is my first week shaving for about a year now. I grew out a beard to hide some extra weight I was putting on. Last week I was looking through some old pictures of mine and realized just how youthful and happy I looked just a few years back. I knew it was time for a change. Originally I just wanted to trim my beard down. Then I saw my razor stand collecting dust and got nostalgic. I opened my bowl of Sandalwood soap and had memories of my childhood learning to shave, and watching my father shave everyday. I stropped up my razor, lathered as well as I could with a thick long beard and began to shave. The beard was gone within ten minutes. I didn't trim the beard down to make things easier, I wanted my SR to do all the work.

The transformation is indescribable. My fiance was so happy she could see my face again she started crying. I feel like a different person, it will take time to get use to, but I am happier without my beard. The only downside is that my skin is having a hard time coping with the change. It is really dry right now, but it is getting less flaky.

Thanks for the suggestion. I never had any issues with dry skin before, so my skin might just need to get use to the shaving process again. I am in need of new soap, so I will have to check out that product. How long does this soap last with normal usage?

I use several different soaps, so I don't use it daily, but I would suspect with daily use it'll last into months.
