Greetings from the Capital
Hello from Northern Virginia and the DC area!
I was drawn to straight razors because I reached a point with my electric razor where the shave caused far too much irritation. It was probably due to the blades getting dulled, but there's no way I'm gonna blow $50 yearly on replacements. Not to mention I have very sensitive skin, so I was looking for the smoothest shave possible. Last but not least, I have a fondness for classical pursuits, and so I was sold on the idea of using a straight! :D
I've been shaving with 5/8 Dovo Solingen since about January that I got from The Art of Shaving, and I have been pleased with the results, but have encountered a handful of problems that belong in another thread. Just wanted say thanks for a great website and all of the helpful posts/guides! Some other straight shaving websites or posts have misleading and downright incorrect info, I'd have been lost getting started without this place.
