Hello from sunny Florida!!

Hello folks,

I started DE wet shaving a few months ago and am really enjoying myself so far. I've had- and still have serious AD i'm intrigued and interested in learning the art of Straight shaving. I'm starting to do some research into what all equipment I'll need. I of course have soaps, creams, AS, and brushes. I just need to find out more about the stuff needed. I'm ready to give it a try and start with straights.

I'm a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, I golf enough to not embarrass myself on the course(most days) and fish and kayak fish.

Welcome, and you were doing great till you hit the wall for me...sorry in advance. I'm also from south Florida, born in PA. I too love golf and can hold my own but far from a pro. The big difference is when I cut myself shaving I bleed EAGLES green. At least your not a Cowboys fan.

It takes a big man to support the Jags, I just moved from Jacksonville (Coast Guard )I still miss Teds Bison pot roast....mmmmm.

Eagles- if you were out in Mayport you had to have gone to Singletons If you didn't then you missed out.

Nothing against the Bucs, I love two teams the Eagles and anyone playing the Cowboys. And I love Singletons.

Sliders on the beach is still to this day one of my favorite places in Jacksonville(aside from Teds and Singletons), Amazing food and not even a sand wedge to the water...well depends on the lie.. I can still taste their Macadamia Nut Crusted Snapper with the rice and Mango chutney, and of course the few dozen raw oyster to go with it.
And Pfries bring on the football talk, its all in good fun, we have threads for everything under the sun Gentleman/or woman related, where is the sports forum's?

I got tired of seeing the Bucs lose. I'm still miffed about them booting Martín Gramática all those years ago.

Welcome to the forum from soggy, rainy Jacksonville, Fl.

Here in Mandarin it's actually quite nice this morning. Got up and went out on a short 3 mile run. Felt great to get out after being stuck inside all weekend.

Yes, I have Cabin fever, and I want to ride my Harley.

Sorry football gets my blood boiling, back on topic. You will need a strop if you don't already have one. I bought a very nice 3" strop but found some scrap leather and made a paddle strop for almost nothing. Easy and functional

Now you have my undivided attention. The last time I was in Jacksonville was in 1980 when I went into the Air Force. I went there to get my prod and poke and raise my hand. I've always preferred the left coast. However, a move up to the Redneck Riviera is not completely out of the question (Panama City or Ft. Walton Beach area). I concur that the Bucs and any team that beats the Dallas Cowboys are my two favorite teams in football.
