    Default Greetings from Louisville, KY

Hello, I've actually been using a cutthroat for about two years now. I started with a cheap blade I picked up for $7 at a Mexican grocery, some old belts for strops, & my knife whetstones (which were actually fairly high quality - I have a thing for knives and swords). Believe it or not, I got the cheap POS razor to give a halfway comfortable shave. I recently upgraded to an actual strop and razor set from Amazon, and even though my new kit is still of lesser quality I haven't looked back on leaving modern shaving behind.

Hello Liam. I am into my second year of using a straight, and I can't remember how I shaved with a cartridge. I was determinded to never buy another cartridge again, and so far that's been true. I have learned that you can get an excellent and comfortable shave with any straight that's properly honed and stropped, and with good technique, and that technique took me some time, and mistakes, to figure out. Good luck and welcome.

TY, I've been making my mistakes and hopefully learning from them. I think I may have even joined this forum previously and then forgotten about it. (Huge mistake). However, I still say the day I looked at the package of disposables and thought "never again," was a great decision.
