    Default Hello From Mesa AZ

I am intrigued at the prospect of using a straight razor. I have always used a multi blade cartridge user and have been shaving my head for the past 11 yrs. I discovered the site yesterday and browsed it for the better part of the day. My wife thinks I'm crazy to want to learn the art of using a straight razor... She thinks that I will be a bloody mess if I attempt it.

I hope to purchase a razor and the accessories soon and hope to find a local resource to do so.

I will continue to scour the forums to gain any bit of info I can.

Welcome. Lots of guys wives think that til they see how soft your face is after shaving, then the tune will change. Keep us posted on your progress.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

    Welcome to SRP!
Seems to be a few new members from The Valley of the Sun this week.
For a local resource to stock your den, check out Rubinov's on 7th street just south of Dunlap. they have a great selection of classic barbershop products. They also have a good selection of Italian products, as well as brushes, DE razors and blades, and they also have straights. Read all you can, this site has a lot of information. It will help minimize the blood loss.
Take your time and enjoy the journey.
