Hello from our nations capital
I am an intelligence officer in the Army, and a former Enlisted Marine Sniper. Currently, I am serving in the D.C. Area. I was called up here to help track down the Boston Bombers and then got asked to stay on for awhile. Living out of a hotel for over 6 months is really fun.
As stated, I am a military man with over 19 years in. I have served in every action possible since I joined. Panama, Haiti, Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, all over Asia...pretty much everywhere. I attended college at Durham University and the University of Edinburgh. My degrees are in Military and Ecclesiastical History.
I am single and have no children. I like redheads, followed closely by Welsh brunetes (what I call a black haired woman with really pale skin and blue eyes) followed by regular brunetes, and then blondes and Asians and everybody else.
I was born and raised on a farm in Arkansas. I still have and drive the same 1966 Pontiac 2+2 I bought in high school 24 years ago. I have a Harley Davidson and a custom chopper that I built. I like to ride horses. I own so many weapons I don't know know the number.
I am also a licensed SCUBA diver and have dived all over the world. My car has a manual transmission because I have testicles. My grandfather was a fighter pilot in WWII, flew F4 Corsairs, the best looking plane ever built (followed closely by the Supermarine Spitfire. Nostalgia may play a role in that decision) and I still have all of his uniforms.
I'm not a huge fan of technology. Even my luggage is old, solidly made full grain leather with no zippers or wheels. That shit just breaks anyway.
I can play the piano by magic. I've never taken lessons, but I can hear a song and sit down and play it back. It was a talent that put me through college and got me laid a lot over the years.
I love animals. I have 2 dogs, but they are currently with my parents as I am constantly deploying and going on assignments. I'm not a huge cat person, but I used to fu...date, a girl who had a F1 Savannah. There was something about a 38 pound all muscle cat that could hiss like a cobra and jump 12 feet straight up from a sitting position. I always used to tell Amy that I only dated her for her pussy as I was petting Sheba.
I recently turned 41, and had mentioned to my current lady that I would like to try shaving with a straight razor. I mean if it was good enough for James Bond in Skyfall it's good enough for me. Anyway, she is really thoughtful and cool as well as being drop dead gorgeous (she looks like Kate from NCIS) and she got me a kit from The Art of Shaving. Please don't tell me it was a rip off cause I didn't buy it, she did, and it was a gift. Anyway, I got some sandalwood scented shave soap and aftershave, a silver tipped badger brush with an ivory handle, a Nicole plated brush holder and a Solingen razor with a wooden handle. And a canvas and leather strop. Been using it for a week or so now and it works pretty good but I am sure I could improve,my technique.
Im in pretty good shape for my age. Probably because being in shape keeps me alive more so than people who do it for "looking good". I've been told I look like the evil Colonel from Avatar with slightly less gray.
Anyway, that's about it for now. Just thought I would introduce myself and give a little background. I look forward to any tips and tricks for shaving with this thing. I always hear about what a close shave they give you but I always seem to have rough spots on my lip and chin and bottom of my neck. I assume I am doing it wrong. Anyway, I look forward to any advice I can pick up here.
