:rofl2: It's a cheap shavette that was given to me by my kids barber. You can read more about that here http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...l-foolish.html. I'm waiting for my Shumate Dollar which should arrive by Tuesday, but I have to say this razor is not too bad. I'm enjoying learning with it, although I know the SR is going to be a whole different experience.
Thought this thread deserved a bump, so here's a kamisori stand I made out of soapstone last week. Tons of inclusions in this particular chunk of stone made it a bit of a challenge at times when carving, but that's OK since I like the look of them when it is all done.
Apart from a drill press to bore out where the edge is suspended, everything else was done with hand tools. Files, chisels, carving knives, sandpaper and micromesh, and finished with beeswax.
