That's my question as well....

I'll play around with that idea today. But in its current configuration, I don't think it would be possible without folding the strop. Not something I'm eager to do. But when traveling, I could easily put it in the suitcase with all the nice 'n soft clothes :).
It would still have to curve around a corner in the suitcase, but at least it wouldn't be folded. Maybe if one had a smaller strop for travel? Or a paddle strop? I only have the SRD 3" black latigo w/matched webbing to think about. The dimensions are 18"×13"×6", for those that want to sketch out a diagram.
A small paddle or a loom strop might be what you need. Or, since you're talking about driving and not air travel, just pre strop your blades and use each one once. You have enough room there for a 2 week vacation... And the perfect excuse: "I need 3 more straights, you said a week at your sister's, and the case you got me has no room for a strop..."
My SRD 3" black latigo don't quite fit. It came real close when I laid it diagonally across the lid, that's if there were no hardware on it... but yes, a small paddle strop might fit in the case. I will go with my original plan of packing it in the suitcase with all the clothes. The suitcase is larger anyway. Simple solution :).

Looks like you have answered my question and several peoples question about a great storage container, that can be at home and be portable also. Thanks.
She sure has you distracted but I would be worried if my wife was helping me pack my most valuable possessions :<0)
