I invaded the wifes space...a little too much.

It seems my ever expanding need for space for the shaving stuff has invaded my wife's counter space. When I started finding my strop, razors, and shaving soap stuffed in a drawer, I knew I had to make some space for myself. Since Idaho is a rather outdoorsy place, I thought something with that kinda theme would be good. Here's my DYI project to give her, her space... and she even likes it.

A bamboo cutting board, a couple birch rounds, and some dowels from a craft store.

Clever idea!

I'm fortunate - we have 3 bathrooms in our house. My wife gets the ensuite, guests and visitors get the main upstairs bathroom, but I...I have the entire downstairs bathroom area to myself and my shaving gear!!

I am not proud to say that my bathroom has more stuff in it than my wife's...

We've got a half bath I was going to use, but then I got the tears and the "I didn't mean to force you out of our bathroom" story, so I had to adapt to keep her from feeling bad. It's all worked out. :)

At least she felt bad. I was being threatened...So now I'm relocated in the basement bathroom.

I want to do the same as you and Jimbo. However, the SWMBO does not allow my commandeering the basement bath as the grandkids sometimes use it. Age 3 and 6.

I think another year or so and I might get my wish.

My wife kicked me out of the master bath years ago - just the two of us so I have the other upstairs bath - its a shrine to wet shaving

Buy the grandkids their own razor and brush. My son is 5 and I bought him a WECK (disposable blade) and a Van Der Hagen shaving brush, took the curious right out of him.

I have the downstairs bathroom all to myself, have to make sure I keep a certain level of dirt though, otherwise she'll try to invade like she did once before when I had it all very neat and organized. I have to remember to apply the bi-weekly coating of toothpaste to the higher magnification side of my telescoping shave mirror though, otherwise make-up and girly stuff starts to appear...also have to remember to continually leave the toilet seat up, or, barring that, make sure I pee on the toilet seat and surrounding area, that always works to keep her and my daughter out...:p

I made the oldest his own SR, latigo strop, mug and bought a brush.

The blade was lexan and the scales cheap plastic. He was happy.

Aye, that is sadly the case for me as well.
She has learned to accept it by now.

I have one bathroom to share with everyone at my house. Which sucks! I keep all my shaving gear in the bedroom..... Nice work.... When you going to start to mass producing these? lol

I eventually learned a long time ago that there are several rules that I must follow for a happy marriage. Two of them are not to share checking accounts or bathrooms.

I don't care if my shaving stuff takes up more space than my wife's face care products.
I just point at the closet were there is usually a trial of crap lying on the floor with a path cut through it so I can walk to my end. I be kickin the crap out of the stuff to make my way.

She gets real quite with her complaining when the closet is brought up!

My stuff is neatly arranged and in order!

This is the closet equivalent!

Yeah, a little more space would be good, but there's actually room for 5 straights plus the 2 DE's on it. That will probably be fine for now, as the other half of my income goes to my S&W addiction. Like my Smiths, I'm finding that getting the razor I want occasionally requires putting up a little more cash than I planned. ;)

My wife and I are considering moving house in the next year or so . . . now, I am not saying this is related to my increasing supply of shaving related items, but high on our list of priorities is a bathroom to call MINE.

Got her loaded up a little more, including the Sheffield.

Oh, if my strop were stuffed in a drawer there would be some serious words exchanged. Though I have and entire shelf in a cupboard to myself in the bathroom so it's not an issue. Seriously, nobody touches my shaving supplies without my consent.
