What a lovely case John and a great refurbishment!
Congratulations you've finally found a practical use for a Gerstner. Being a Toolmaker they were always a sign of a Craftsman. However once you got them home and started to load it up with your gear you realized these thin and shallow draws wont hold any of your measuring instrument cases. A constant P.I.A. Ive since retired mine to the basement and gone to Kennedy and Sears boxes. But as a Razor box its Aces. :tu
That's a fantastic looking chest and a great restoration.
What a wonderful way to introduce folks into straight and d/e wet shaving.
If that doesn't raise some hackles and entice them, nothing will.

Wow - great job John, and some stunning razors and kit as well.
Those are top notch chests, well done!

Thanks for the compliments guys, but there are some issues with the green felt installation. I can't cut a straight line to save my life.
The edges are a bit off on some trays.
The original mirror has super thin glass that most glass/mirror companies don't sell & thicker mirror won't fit the original frame.
So,,,, the company want a prime price for a new original mirror replacement.
That dang handle (original replacement ) cost $50.00 ,,, for what its made of a dang rip-off.
the first thing I came accross was this.
Mirror Fun: Silvering and Re-Silvering and How to Make Your Own One-Way Mirrors
Wow, John!
That is extremely nice! :bow
Ol' Jimmy can come up with the good stuff! :tu
That is sweet! The cigar box insert is great. I've been try to noodle out how to fabricate something similar, but I think I'll hunt for a few of those.
