Just what I need for seasoning cast iron and carbon steel. I've used cloth and paper towels, but always wind up with lint.

Ordered the barber towels last night. A dozzen for under 14 bucks shipped. The wife is happy about it. Thanks for all the help guys.
I have a couple of old hand towels that are dedicated to my razors. There's cuts all over them. ;)
Glad im not the only one who cuts up towels without knowing it. That makes me feel better. The wife threw away the two i cut. They looked bad after the washing machine.
The barber towels would be ideal.
A number of us have multiple seven day sets of razors. We should all have one or more
seven day sets of towels for the shave den. A lot of rashes and trouble begins with
a damp mildewed towel that infects the micro nicks.
A sponge for wiping lather makes it easy to not waste water.
Use it like a strop with a spine first wipe.
My bias is for bathroom tissue to wipe the blade dry.
BTW: Yes she is right.
Been thinking about a sponge. Sould be easy enough to find. What size sponge are we talking about gentlemen? About the size of a smart phone (what i was thinking) or something smaller?
Just ask your Local Health Department what they think of sponges in the workplace and you'll find that they are a big NO NO! :nono:

I also prefer the standard, striped barber's towels to a sponge...especially for the consideration noted by cudarunner. Towels are easily washed.
I can hang a towel to dry and get a clean one the next day but thinking of a sponge, i cant leave it on the counter to dry. Huh. Now that i think about it. It might not work out for me.it sure sounds like a good idea but then Cudarunner comments. To each there own i guess.
