I can't answer your question but my Schwarzweisskeramik scuttle arrived today and I can't wait to use it in the morning. It's much bigger than I expected and holds a huge amount of water. I'm it will keep the lather hot for a long time. I'll let you know how it worked tomorrow.

Depends on how big your brush is. (I assume you're talking about the original one-piece scuttle & not the newer modular brush scuttle.)My tall 28mm brush would be a tight fit, I'm told--it would probably work fine for keeping lather warm, but making lather in it might get a bit messy... I have a brush scuttle (w/ stackable lather bowl) on the way--I'll post how it works w/ my "El Supremo" size brush when I get it.

I do still want to pick up one of Oskar's scuttles someday, FWIW.

I used the Schwarzweisskeramik scuttle for the first time this morning. Before my shower, I filled the scuttle with hot tap water and also turned on the electric teakettle that I have to boil water in the bathroom. After the shower, I dumped out the hot tap water and filled the scuttle with boiling water. The scuttle takes about a liter (as I said before, it's huge. The pictures on the web site give no sense of perspective). I put Cella soap in the soap lid that is included. The Cella soap is soft, so it molded easily to the shape of the lid. I can see that, with this system, I'm going to use a lot less soap compared to lathering in the same bowl with the soap. The lather stayed hot to the very end and I got a great shave. I can't say anything about the Moss, Georgetown or Dirty Bird scuttles because I haven't tried them. I chose the Schwarzweisskeramik because it looked like it could do the job and I wouldn't have any import hassles (I'm in the EU). Bottom line is that I'm very happy with this scuttle.

Well, it's as I feared: the scuttle itself works great (and looks really nice in my shave den), but it's a pretty tight squeeze for my biggest brush (the one I use most, unfortunately).

Actually, even my GP scuttle will overflow easily when using that thing if I'm not careful. Hmmm. I guess I could always sell them & get a large Schwarzweisskeramik... Anybody know how much shipping is?

If you can wait three or four weeks: A shipment of S and LK scuttles is on the way to Mama Bear.

Ordered mine yesterday! LK scuttle in "schwarz/weiss". Also ordered some of her soap. Can't wait to use it w/ my "El Supremo" brush!

I'm putting my other 2 scuttles up for sale in the classifieds if anyone's interested.
