Manual hair clippers..
So curious.....I like to keep what little hair I have left on my melon very close, but I don't like to skin it.In the interst of being green with a straight razor and all,I was wondering.Has anybody out there used manual hair clippers and are they any good ? Also, where might I find some ? I'm looking for a modern day manufacturer. If there is one out there, I need some good feedback.

I have an old one. It still works perfectly fine. I have no idea if they are still made but you probably can find an old one online.

Have you checked the ones at Amazon.com?

Funny post.:)
It's like someone who uses a Gillette proglide asking if a straight razor is any good.:)
Barbers used manual clippers exclusively for probably more time than they have used electric. When I was a kid most older barbers used them and the electrics were recently out and the younger guys were starting to use them.
I have a pair of Dorko Clippers I got NOS and they work great.
They coime up now and then on Eboy.

Just came from one of the antique stores in town and saw a few there that looked like they were in fair shape.

I figure my electric ones get used infrequently enough, for such a short amount of time, and draw little enough current that I'd never worry about them not being green.
-
I see them at antique stores all the time. They seem like they would work well but I don't know. They're not to high priced either.

The Bressant looks just like my old one, only shiny. It should work just fine!

Thanks for asking this question Nightblade. I was actually doing a search for manual hair clippers a month or so back. I own a set of electric clippers that I use one every year or two. Pure laziness on my part. I like short hair but only cut once in a blue moon, I inevitably end up with a pony tail that ends up being harder to mow down. I was thinking along the same lines as you too I would say.
