That is beyond cool, how does the water drain from the basin when you are finished? Is it removable?
Well its hard to tell but the bottom drawer has a tub to catch the water !!!!
Would make any shaving den complete!
Crap, now I have to make one of these. My wife is gonna kill me!
I was thinking the same thing as well..........
Hello, Martin,
I love that cabinet. What a treasure. Well done.
I forgot to mention the upper part is for water, and the dowels on the side for towels!!
That is very cool. Of course, it wouldn't fit in my apartment, but I want one.
Sweet. I'd love to have one of those.
Is there any indication of a maker on the back? I would love this thing!!
No indication at all but if you want one its for sale only 4 grand!!!
Are you serious? You could add a shaving room to your house for that much.
That is the asking price!! one of a kind for sure!!
Wow. That thing is sweet.
Those pics are definitely going in the "future projects" folder on the HDD. Thanks!
That is the ultimate straight razor accessory. I run into shave boxes/cabinets from time to time on the internet, but nothing quite this large. Would be awesome to have!
Very, very nice.
This is the best Shave Den that I've see. Thanks for sharing. Please post more pics.
Too nice !
That is incredible. Thanks for sharing!
Yes its wonderful i will post more pics soon!!!
That's a beautiful piece! Is it vintage/antique, or a modern reproduction?
It is definately antique /vintage
Here a few more pics, did i mention that this was made out of solid mahogany.
Thank you Martin, a very beautyful piece, nice wood and great design. The sink can download the water ?And if yes, where go the water ? There's a sort of tank ?
There's a tank in the top that holds water. Open the faucet to fill the basin with water. When done, lift the basin out of the dresser and dump it.
Well Big Jim is almost right, tank in the top to hold water fill basin but the water goes all the way down to bottom drawer where there is a metal bucket for waste water, the piece is well before time of indoors plumbing.
Those must be shallow drawers then, for there to be clearance for a drain pipe back there. Surprising. Certainly pre-dates indoor plumbing, though it wouldn't be hard to plumb that unit into a bathroom/bedroom/shave den and use it as your personal shaving station.
Now I wish I had means and space to do such a thing. Wouldn't that be the life!
Peace,
Jim
And i forgot to mention if you look at one of the pictures you see a couple drawers pulled out while the bottom one opens like a door to empty the waste bucket!!!!!!
man that is beautiful, i would be very proud of that if i could possibly own it, but 4 grand would do much more here and i would either be dead or divorced if i bought it.
Yes 4 grand is a lot of money for sure but posting it surely gave a few guys ideas about making one or even maybe restoring and old dresser with modification, beeing a woodworker myself my wheels are turning!!!
AAAAAWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE---SSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMME EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
