Nice mahogany (I think) cutlery box. Has nice brass inlays and a key operated lock with brass barrel.
About 30x20cm and in need of some love once my exam is out of the way.
I will have an excuse to fill it when it's done though!

That should work nicely. Please show us the finished product when you're done.
Lets see the inside & photos when it loaded with straights.
Slightly wider and longer than I thought. 45x30cm and 10cm deep.
This will hold a good few razors. I'm happy with it for £5 and may use it to keep other precious items in such as my grandfathers gold watch, which he gave to me on my 18th (the sons argued over who should get itand grandad chose the 1 grandson :D)
Make some compartments as its mahoosive!
Lay in some felt and sew in somw nylon loops,and it will hold even the largest blades. It's quite a deep lid so I was planning on chucking a bit of storage in there too, drop down section.
I've already started to look for the brass struts to keep the lid up.
I'm thinking I can squeeze 3 layers, if not in all of it, for different items.
That is a really good idea. That wood will finish out nicely and you will have a case for your razors that you can be proud of. :tu

First going over with sandpaper tonight. Cleaned it off with white spirit after sanding and I think I'm going to oil it.
I may have actually made a girlie noise when I saw it wet with white spirit.
It's going to be a bit of a long one as I have an exam I need to pass in march so will be doing bits as I can.
Good things come to those who wait and all that!
I'll whack a bit more white spirit on tomorrow and photograph it and you can let me know what you think.
I'll take the exam for you. What's it in? I'll start boning up right away.

Well, I got bored of revising and did this today.
Went down to 400 grit paper on the box before a few coats of teak oil and lined the interior with green felt.
Still a ways to go but getting there.
That is looking great! Continue updating the progress. I am thinking of building my own and donating the seven day box I have as my Hart is to big for the box.
