Could be cool if the bride and groom was hopped up on acid :o
I don't really think IR is the right media for protraits either, I agree with that one :D

I love your HDR shots. Did you use photoshop, photomatix, or other program to convert them into HDR?
You guys are all making me want to go out and take some photos! All the ones I have online are here under the different albums on the left Pictures by Crimthann - Photobucket
I actually just signed up for a photography class because my major is requiring a fine art class, I'm very much looking forward to it. Although it's all B&W film based and I switched to a new camera since then :(. I use to take photography back in high school (1995ish - 2000) and I used an older minolta for it. Now I use my nikon d40x and bought a ton of lenses for it, so I'm going to be sad to use my older minolta without the lenses.
First of all... to your question, I can answer yes. I used photoshop, with a photomatix plugin to create HDRs. (I do my best not to over do HDRs but at times it is hard not to.)
Minolta is a good camera, but if you are allowed to use digital, go for it. just convert to black and white in channel mixer ;)
oh and I do think that a lot of the sony lenses should work with that camera lol... not 100% sure tho, but seems logical since sony bought up minolta.
Best of luck with the schooling. I have no education in photography, but it is the one hobby I can take with me all over the world. :D
Some pictures from when I used to shoot. Don't mind the facebook conversion, which suck major balls!

Bored tonight and roaming the forums....hadn't seen this thread before. I've always liked photography, especially nature-related stuff (think Ansel Adams) and finally a few months ago picked up a Canon DSLR that I've had an absolute blast with so far. The only problem I've encountered is the Camera Lens Acquisition Disorder that followed....lol....but it's fun!
My best tip could be to check out photo stores, a lot of them sell high quality secondhand equipment for a very reasonable price. You could allso talk to electronics stores some of them sell camera equipment, but be sure to get all the help you need from a camera store due to the speciality they have then save money by buying your equipment cheaper at a larger store... they normally don't like you doing that... but it is becoming common practise... I buy my equipment from the local camera store, cause of a long standing respect for them, and better post purchase followup
My passion is nature photography. I the work of Galen Rowell, Franz Lanting, Ansel (of coures). Unfortunately, it's not my strong point. Most of my best work seems to be of more boring subjects like sexy models.
I see this thread died pretty hard a few years ago. Anyone interested in reviving it?
