I'm not doubting your word but ..... are you sure about that ? I was under the impression that you never wash your cast iron pan once you've got the surface broken in and coated ? I wipe mine out with paper towels while it is still hot and put it away. Same with my egg pan. Stainless but I learned when I worked in resturants as a kid to never get water near the egg pan. :nono: I wipe it out with the paper towel and it is a default egg pan. Nothing else can be cooked in it.
