Tea anyone ??!!

A couple of related question from me today:

You've all seen my tiny teapot -- it's a 150ml unglazed banko kyusu, which so far has only been used for brewing sencha.

My first question is would you use the same pot to brew roasted greens in, ie houjicha or genmaicha, and risk some kind of flavour transfer or would it be worth my while spending the extra cash ($25 + shipping) on an additional pot to keep them separate?

Similarly, I have a stainless steel pot that has been used for all sorts of teas and a cast iron tetsubin which is mostly used for blacks -- you've seen pics of both. Which do you think I'd be better off brewing oolongs in? (As much as I'd like to, I can't afford another pot for that as well!)

Okay fellas...I know I haven't really given a big thumbs up to buying directly from Kusmi, so......I just made an order from them.Got an 8 oz. tin of loose Bouquet De Fleurs No.108. for $27.95 with USPS priority shipping which was about $6.01 the whole shebang ran me about $33.96 I'll let ya know how it went. I may be eating some humble pie here soon ,we shall see. ...... I love tea...:chapeau

Many thanks to Phil for this generous sample. :bow When I opened the package all I could smell was Cardamon! Wow, what an aroma! I really enjoy teas like this where the base is strong & noticeable, nice cardamon prescence in flavor and aroma.

Ahoy! Drinkers of the Tea!!

I received a "disk" of Old Tea Tree Mengku Pu-erh tea yesterday. I, not being that good with the metric system, ended up with more than I expected. The photos it is on a plate that measures 8.5 inches, 21.59 centimeters. And, 400G feels more like 1 1/2 pounds to me, not 14.1 ounces. The good news is, it's supposed to get better with age!! But, I'm curious as to how/where to store it? I was thinking of keeping it wrapped in it's paper and in the plastic ziplock it came in, but leave the ziplock bag open to allow it to breathe. Then, in the cupboard with the canned goods and pasta. I have read about keeping it in clay jars or something like that, but I have nothing that size and don't want to bust it up to make it fit. Any suggestions???

I would just do as you you're thinking... Maybe find a paper bag instead of the plastic and twist it shut...

My newest teapot. A 4 buck grab

TOTM...Had my very first cup of loose tea tonight. Russian Royal was in the tea ball and steeped for 4 1/2 min. Pretty Tasty with a sweet finish. And a big thanks to WVLoony for helping out a tea noob with some teas !!!

Breaking in my new pot with some loose Ahmad cardamom tea. I have this in bags but didn't have any loose till today. Looking
forward to this
